Redmi AX6000 OpenWrt: LionVPN RC Setup Guide
Review the Redmi AX6000 OpenWrt 24.10.2 setup path for the LionVPN RC IPK. Package matching does not guarantee real-device, ABI or VPN connection compatibility.
This is release-candidate setup guidance. Real-device installation, ABI compatibility and VPN connectivity have not been established by package metadata checks. Proceed only after reviewing the exact release instructions and recovery plan.
Read before flashing
Use this only on Redmi AX6000 / Redmi Router AX6000. Do not use it on Xiaomi AX6000, AX3000, AX3600, or similarly named routers.
Flashing OpenWrt erases the stock router configuration and can require recovery work if interrupted.
Use Ethernet from your computer to a LAN port. Do not flash over Wi-Fi and do not power off during flashing.
Back up critical partitions before writing OpenWrt. Keep backups private because they may contain device identifiers.
Required files
OpenWrt initramfs factory image for xiaomi_redmi-router-ax6000-stock
OpenWrt squashfs sysupgrade image for xiaomi_redmi-router-ax6000-stock
OpenWrt sha256sums file from the same 24.10.2 target directory

Safe installation flow
Log in to the Xiaomi router UI at 192.168.31.1 and confirm the model is Redmi AX6000 before doing anything else.
Use OpenWrt 24.10.2 mediatek/filogic files and compare SHA256 checksums before flashing.
Administrator access to the stock router is required. Back up BL2, Nvram, Bdata, Factory, and FIP before writing firmware.
After initramfs boots, the router moves from 192.168.31.1 to 192.168.1.1. Verify DISTRIB_ARCH is aarch64_cortex-a53.
Upload the IPK, install it with opkg, enable gateway mode, then log in from LuCI under Services -> LionVPN.
Install LionVPN after OpenWrt is running
The existing commands below apply only after the stated OpenWrt installation is complete and the router is reachable at 192.168.1.1. They are conditional RC instructions, not evidence of a tested installation, ABI compatibility or working VPN connection.

On an opkg image, run opkg print-architecture and compare its accepted architecture with aarch64_cortex-a53. The firmware target mediatek/filogic is a different field. Matching both labels does not prove that this RC installs or connects successfully.
Downloading a public package does not sign you in or establish an account entitlement. Follow the selected release’s local sign-in instructions. Keep account details, passwords, tokens and local authentication files out of shared reports.
A router gateway requires explicit routing and DNS configuration, followed by checks on each intended device. Wi-Fi or LAN association alone does not prove that traffic uses a VPN. This RC guide does not guarantee phone, TV or game-console coverage.
No. Confirm the exact model and firmware layout in the official OpenWrt device instructions. Do not apply this Redmi setup path to Xiaomi AX6000 or another similarly named router.
Official OpenWrt 24.10 uses opkg/IPK, while 25.12 uses apk/APK. Renaming the package does not convert it. This page’s existing commands describe the 24.10.2 IPK path; they do not validate a 25.12 setup or approve another LionVPN package.
